Discover USA

The USA is home to some of the most iconic and popular cities in all the world. Enjoy a high-rolling city break in Las Vegas where entertainment is literally all around you, hot pool parties on hotel rooftops, casinos, strippers shows, divas and more!… before taking a contrasting trip to see the magnificent Grand Canyon where the most breathtaking views await.

Or why not choose San Francisco, with its rolling streets, cable cars and of course the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco,  welcomes you as you are, permanently granted the right to be as outlandish and stunning as you want thanks to its rich counterculture history and public embrace of LGBTQ culture. While the queer community is welcome across the entire city, the epicenter of gay life here is undoubtedly the Castro, one of the first gay neighborhoods in the United States, which still remains a symbol of LGBT+ activism and events the world over.

Bright lights, big city

New York

The city that never sleeps is an accurate way to describe New York, in all its glory. Pound the streets of ‘the big apple’ by day, taking in sights like the Empire State Building, Times Square and Rockefeller Centre, before booking a table at one of the hundreds of restaurants to enjoy a hearty meal New York style.

America’s first “gay town”, Fire Island is the hottest Summer destination in New York.  “America’s First Gay and Lesbian Town,” has been a Summer destination for gay visitors since the 1930’s. Gay boys would flock to Fire Island for some summer fun and enjoy a dreamy beach escape. That tradition remains to this day.

Fire Island is the larger, center island on the south shore of Long Island, New York.

Touring the USA

The states of America are made for exploring. With a vast amount of land to cover and such a diverse array of landscapes, cultures and attractions to see you really do need to get out and about to experience all the USA has to offer. From cross country adventures aboard comfortable coaches to river journeys on a traditional steamboat, we have something to suit everyone.

Good to know about before traveling to the USA

Some important tips for the planning of your trip to the United States of America: UK LGBT+ travellers and all travellers coming from a Visa Waiver Program country don’t need a US visa for vacation purposes but have to apply for your ESTA form instead. We see it as our entry ticket to the USA as it is necessary to show at the immigration check before entering the United States of America. Also, check the validity of your passport because in some cases it needs to be valid for a couple of months beyond your travel period.

If you are planning to do a road trip around the USA, which is an amazing thing to do, check the driver’s license requirements and the possible necessity of an international driver’s license (rules differ from state to state). Also: Bring your adapter plug since you need one to connect European/ Asian plugs to the electricity grid. Some hotels might have a few to spare but it is always smarter to bring your own. What about the money? We always bring a couple of hundred US Dollars from Europe, just in case. But you can pay with your credit card basically everywhere. Please be aware that sometimes you’ll need the pin code of your credit card, so make sure you know it.

When to travel

Along the east coast, summers tend to be hot and humid, winters cold and often with snowfall, which makes for a picture postcard scene. Spring brings colour as the weather improves and autumn, or fall, is pleasant and sunny. There’s always a good time to visit.

Further south in tropical Florida, the weather is warm and humid most of the year. Many choose to travel during winter as it’s mild but still warm enough to swim outdoors. Humidity rises towards summer and by September the rainy season has come to an end. On the west side, in the desert area of Las Vegas the weather is generally hot and dry year round with very little rainfall. The hottest months are June, July and August with temperatures in the top 30 degrees to low 40 degrees and the humidity is quite high.

The most pleasant time of year to visit is usually in spring when temperatures and humidity are more comfortable.
